Buttock Lift Procedure
A buttock lift is typically performed on an outpatient basis, requires general anesthesia, and can be completed within three to six hours, depending on your unique needs. The surgery usually begins with an incision made at the top of the buttocks. Occasionally, an incision is needed on the hips or in the groin area. Our plastic surgeon will then be able to remove any excess skin and smooth the remaining skin for a more contoured and toned appearance. He will also work diligently to ensure that any residual scarring is as light as possible.
Buttock Lift Recovery and Results
Patients should expect some mild swelling and bruising after buttock lift surgery. Post-operative discomfort can be controlled with medication. Our surgeons recommend wearing a compression garment for about three weeks after your procedure to aid in the healing process. While it may take several months for the treatment area to fully heal, most buttock lift patients return to work and their daily activities about three weeks after surgery. Any strenuous activities or exercise should be avoided during the initial recovery process.
During your initial consultation, our plastic surgeon will discuss all aspects of this procedure with you and help you determine whether buttock lift is the right option for your needs.
