Dermal fillers are becoming an increasingly popular solution for facial aging, due to their ability to effectively reduce the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles without surgery. The injectables work to rejuvenate the face by subtly enhancing areas where collagen and fatty tissue have depleted over time. As lines and folds develop, fillers can be administered to smooth these areas and provide a more youthful complexion. Our experienced providers at New York Plastic Surgical Group—a division of Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, PC (LIPSG)—work closely with each patient to design a custom treatment plan that can help them reach their aesthetic goals.
Injectable sessions are relatively quick and typically require little to no downtime. In fact, they are often called “lunchtime” procedures since they can be performed over such a short period of time, and you can return to your normal activities soon after with minimal side effects.
Restylane® is a filler composed of hyaluronic acid, which is a material that naturally occurs in the body. Its formula binds to the moisture already present in the body, helping it maintain its shape under the skin once injected. Restylane® has provided our patients with beautiful anti-aging results by helping fill severe facial lines and folds, as well as add volume to areas like the lips. Each session typically takes about 30 minutes to complete, and results are long-lasting. Patients are usually able to maintain their rejuvenative results for six months to a year.

At New York Plastic Surgical Group, we also offer Restylane® Silk, which is a variation of Restylane® that contains a smooth gel FDA-approved for the lips and the lines that develop around the mouth. It can effectively combat the loss of collagen by adding volume to this area, providing soft and supple definition. It can also be used in the tear trough under the eye. Patients must be 21 years or older to be eligible for Restylane® Silk. Results can last as long as six months, helping fill thin lips, improve their contour, and smooth lines around them.
Restylane® Refyne & Defyne
Restylane® Refyne and Restylane® Defyne are innovative dermal fillers intended to treat moderate to severe facial lines and wrinkles, including nasolabial folds and marionette lines. The formulas, which are composed of hyaluronic acid, were designed using XpresHAn Technology™ to effectively restore lost volume while maintaining the natural movement of facial expressions. Restylane® Refyne can smooth trouble areas while maintaining maximum flexibility, and Restylane® Defyne is effective at filling deep lines with more advanced support. Both injectables can provide beautiful rejuvenation for the right candidates, with results lasting up to one year if not longer in some patients.

JUVÉDERM® is one of the most popular fillers at our practice. It also consists of hyaluronic acid and is used to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles by smoothing the target facial areas. This filler can also be used to restore lost facial volume or create fuller lips. JUVÉDERM® sessions can typically be completed within 30 minutes, and a local anesthetic can be used to minimize potential discomfort. Patients can often begin to see their results immediately, and they should continue to improve over time. The treated areas should maintain their smooth appearance for six to nine months, if not longer. Our team also offers JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC, which is specifically designed to add volume to the midfacial region.

JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC
JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler specially designed to reduce signs of moderate to severe facial wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds. The injectable helps restore lost volume to the area, creating a more youthful-looking facial appearance in those 22 years and older. A treatment with JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC takes about 30 minutes to complete, and minimal discomfort is typically experienced throughout the process, due to the formula containing a local anesthetic (lidocaine). Immediately after treatment, patients can often begin to see their results, which can last as long as 12-18 months. Little to no downtime is typically needed, allowing patients to resume their daily activities after their JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC session.
Radiesse® is another dermal filler that has proven to be highly beneficial for the right candidates. This injectable is composed of biocompatible gel that contains microspheres. Since it is made from the same minerals that are produced naturally in the body, there is little risk of allergic reaction. Radiesse® is often used to fill nasolabial folds, enhance the lips, correct depressed scars, add volume to sunken cheeks, and diminish lines and wrinkles in the face. Its formula also stimulates collagen production to improve facial contours naturally. Each session takes about 15 minutes to complete, and a numbing agent can be used to increase your comfort throughout the process. You should begin to see Radiesse®’s positive effects immediately, and patients report maintaining their outcome for as long as one to two years, making it one of the longest lasting fillers on the market.

Tear Trough Treatment
Over time, as the skin and muscles of the face start to descend, the area underneath the eyes can gradually deepen, causing the appearance of bags or dark circles to develop. To help diminish these unwanted grooves and refresh your facial aesthetic, we often recommend the use of fat injections or a dermal filler such as Restylane®. By carefully administering a small amount of the injectable into the tear troughs, we can help reduce these unwanted effects that age the face, smoothing out the area to help you achieve a more youthful facial appearance.
